Selective waste collection
It is widely spread and well established in Switzerland. Selective collection points are all over, you don't have to travel a lot to find one. On top, you get a yearly calendar with dates and places, when exactly paper and cardboard paper is collected, where to take used oil or old electrical devices - and basically everything what occurs in a household as waste.
Today was the first time I saw how the selective waste is collected. The truck had a huge split container, the smaller containers were lifted, they opened at the bottom and let the waste fall into the appropriate part of the big container - with big noise.

Sweet friends
Did you know that Angry Birds comes from Finland - just as this pack of Angry Birds soft gums I recieved from my Finnish friend.
Percy Pig we got from England. It contains real pig in form of pork gelatin, as opposed to pectin, a common vegetarian alternative found widely in sweets and jellies.

Little hats
One can help old people by knitting tiny little hats, sending them in and Innocent Drinks pays 50 rappen after each bottle with hat sold to the Pro Senectute foundation (in Switzerland). The initiative is called Das grosse Stricken (The Big Knit).
