Clean air

Due to the unusually mild winter the dust concentration in the air is so deep as it was 40 years ago. The air is clean, the Alps get visible from almost every part of the country.

Bridge trail - St. Gallen

St. Gallen has more bridges than do most other cities in Switzerland. The Bridge Trail leads from the St.Gallen-Haggen Station and over 18 bridges. This 7.5 kilometre walking trail starts at the train station in St. Gallen-Haggen and goes to Spisegg. The trail runs past eighteen viaducts, wooden and concrete bridges and suspension bridges and through the river landscape in the Sitter- und Wattbachlandschaft nature reserve. An information board at each bridge explains much about the design, year of construction and the construction itself.

Läderach - Swiss chocolate

We visited the show-factory of Läderach in Bilten (canton Glarus). It's a rather small one but the fresh chocolate you can buy in it's shop is worth a visit if you are nearby (skiing in Flumserberg or having a family trip to Heidiland).

Freitag container store

 

 

 

The container store of the recycling bag producer Freitag is the highest of its kind in the world. It is 9 stories (containers) and 26 meter high. One can climb to the top and take a look around. It's near the main station of Zürich or even closer to the station called Hardbrücke.
